 Hello Families,

This week we started our math unit on place value. Our learning intention for this unit is be able to represent and describe numbers to 10 000 000. We worked on worm form of numbers up to 10 000 000 and played Swap, Stick, Steal to work on our understanding of place value and work on saying numbers up to 10 000 000 in the proper format. I have attached the game for you to play at home. It can be adapted so the whole family can play as well by changing the number of digits (cards) you are playing with.

We started hope on the "It's Corn" trend since everyone could not stop singing it and we made our own "It's Corn" Remixes. Everyone was very creative and used great descriptive language. We all had a great time and a good laugh while creating them!

We introduced our inquiry this week. Students brainstormed things that they are old enough to do now that they in grade 5 and 6. Here are some of their first ideas. I am excited to see how these ideas grow and evolve over the year.
