First Week!

 Hello Families,

We have had a great first couple days back! I can already see new friendships forming within the classroom. During our first day, we got together with the other grade 5/6 classes, it was great to see how great all three classes got along together. We went over classroom, recess, and lunch expectations and everyone seems to be getting the hang of life in the portables.

Students worked with their table groups during a STEM challenge and Word Maker (name edition). During these tasks, students worked on their communication skills and got to know more about others in their groups. 

Next week, we will be making placemats. In Montessori, we use placemats during out lunch and snack routines. We will be making our placemats by doing a press of wax paper. I have asked students to bring any leaves, grasses, petals, or flowers for themselves and the class for this. they were told to ask their parents before they go picking things around the garden and house. If you are picking flowers, they will need to be pressed, we can do this at school or if you would like to press them at home, you're more than welcome. We will also be collecting wax paper. If you have any rolls you would like to donate to this project that would be amazing! We will be collecting Tuesday and Wednesday as we will be making our placemats on Thursday. Below is an example of what will be doing but just using leaves.
